Developed in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh Diabetes Institute, the Conemaugh Diabetes Institute provides services to people diagnosed with diabetes as well as their families. People at risk for developing diabetes can also take advantage of our prevention-focused services. Our programs are recognized by the American Diabetes Association and led by certified diabetes educators.
This group program is designed for people who were recently diagnosed with diabetes or need more up-to-date information to control their diabetes. Day and evening classes are available.
This free program teaches people how to balance food and exercise to lose weight and help prevent or delay the onset of diabetes. Instructors provide tips and easy-to-understand guidelines to help make proper food choices and physical exercise a part of daily life. They also offer ongoing support to help keep participants on track.
Free support groups are held for adults and children who have been diagnosed with diabetes as well as their family members.
